|Sercos To Exhibit at Pack Expo 2012
Come visit the Sercos Booth at Pack Expo 2012 in Chicago -- C-35 in the Association Pavilion, which is just to the right as you enter McCormick Place North. (Not far from the Starbucks.)
The Sercos Guitar is played using a Bosch Rexroth control with a software extension to read MIDI music files and convert them to Sercos commands for the Phoenix I/Os that control the magnetic components that actually play the guitar. Read more and check out videos of the Sercos Guitar and the new companion Sercos Keyboard.
Stop by and see us any time, but note that this pavilion is open prior to the official opening of the exhibit floor. We’ll have experts on hand to discuss the Sercos Automation Bus, we’ll display Sercos products from a number of our members, and we’ll feature the Sercos Guitar.
Free Registration -- Attendees can register for the show free (on-line only) prior to October 27, 2012 compliments of Sercos and save the $30 advance registration fee. You also avoid standing in line at the show and paying the $60 on-site fee. You can find a link for show registration at www.sercos.com. If you go directly to the Pack Expo site, note that your free registration code is 99K87.
Note that Pack Expo requires paid registration for non-exhibiting suppliers.
The Sercos Monitor, a powerful diagnostic tool for Sercos III networks, is available for free download on the Sercos.de website at http://www.sercos.de/en/downloads/tools.
The diagnostic tool allows a comprehensive and detailed analysis of the data traffic in Sercos III networks. The Sercos Monitor operates on the Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems and is based on the WinPcap interface. The tool allows both retroactive evaluation of stored network records in the pcap file format and an analysis of the network traffic in real time. A user-friendly interface plus overview functions for the typical features of a Sercos III network, such as topology, communications phases and service channel transmission, enable a fast and targeted launch of the analysis process. Different views and filter mechanisms allow the customized evaluation of Sercos III real time telegrams and other Ethernet telegrams based on the individual requirements of the user.
Sercos International holds twice-yearly Sercos III Plug Fests at the Sercos Competency Center at ISW, University of Stuttgart. The plug fests are free of charge to any manufacturer of Sercos III control systems, servo drives, I/O systems and other peripheral devices. Interoperability tests are performed between each present master and slave and between masters and multiple slaves to verify implementation of Sercos III devices to ensure the best possible compliance of the different products. The next plug fest is scheduled for October 24-25, 2012. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
