Sercos is continuing its successful webinar series, with 5 webinars currently scheduled in 2015. All webinars begin at 16:00 CET, which is 10 am EST.

Functionalities of Hotplug -- Tuesday. February 10, 2015
A Sercos hardware failure or break in a cable does not result in a communication shut-down. Instead, with hotplugging, defective devices or cables can be replaced while the system is in operation, which significantly increases machine availability. Rigobert Kynast, Technical Leader Sercos III Communication at Bosch Rexroth AG, will explain the functionalities of a hotplug in regards to both master and slave devices.

Machine Communication in the Context of Industry 4.0 -- Tuesday, March 3, 2015
As part of the fourth industrial revolution, IT and production technologies are merging with the objective of a self-organizing factory (smart factory) that further increases the efficiency of industrial processes. Sercos networks consist of a master which coordinates at least one slave that carries out automation functions. Generally, the devices are ordered simply and neatly in line or ring topologies. In the first of this 2-part webinar, Rigobert Kynast discusses Sercos devices with two ports and two connectors, Sercos devices with two ports and one connector only, the difference between physical and logical topologies, how a device detects the existing topology and more.
