New Version of Free Sercos Monitor Introduced
Sercos International released a new version of the Sercos Monitor as a free download at Hannover Fair 2016. This diagnostic tool facilitates a comprehensive and detailed analysis of the data traffic in Sercos III networks. The new version supports the new features of Sercos version 1.3.1, as well as the recording and analysis of CIP Safety frames, the S/IP protocol and hot-plug procedures in a Sercos III network. Special highlights are an oscilloscope function and a graphical visualization of the Sercos timing.
With the oscilloscope function, signals can be visualized for easy analysis of value over time. The free configurability supports a broad variety of application options. For example, process data such as torque and speed values can be visualized individually or collectively.
The graphical visualization of the Sercos timing provides a quick and easy overview of the structure of the configured Sercos communication cycle. Read more and view screenshots »
Test your abilities at the Sercos booth at SPS IPC Drives in Italy
Sercos International will present new products, innovative technologies and updates regarding safety plus a robotic demo from Schneider Electric at its joint booth at SPS IPC Drives Italia May 24-26 in hall 2, booth D070.
The robotic solution consists of a fully stainless-steel PacDrive P4-robot and an MAXR gantry robot. The 3-axis P4 delta robot sets the gaming pieces while the 3-axis portal moves the board with its additional rotary axis. To perform this task, the P4 robot has to synchronize four mechanically coupled axes (3 linear, 1 rotary). After each automatic move by the robot, the visitor sets his gaming piece using an HMI. Visitors to the Sercos joint booth are invited to test their abilities against the robotic solution.
Another highlight will be the Sercos III SoftMaster demo, which will show how the highest speed and hard real-time can be achieved using a standard Ethernet controller.
In addition to live demos, there will also be a number of new products from various categories such as: drives, safety, network components and more. Read more »
Sercos Report from Hanover Fair
Sercos International recorded a 50% increase in contacts at the recent Hannover Fair in Hannover, Germany, compared to the previous year.
A booth highlight was the Sercos III SoftMaster demo, which showed how the highest speed and hard real-time can be achieved using a standard Ethernet controller. High performance and the highest determinism can be achieved due to a controller which supports queues and scheduling, for example the Intel i210.
Another highlight was the Hexapod demo from Bosch Rexroth, which is offered as a fundamental motion system (drive- and flight simulator, also simulator for other uses).
In addition, there was an OPC UA Info Point, where visitors could learn more about the OPC UA Companion Specification for Sercos.
